Primary Schools Camogie Roinn A County Final
St Canices 3 -3
Piltown 2 – 3
In qualifying for this Roinn A County Final St Canice’s defeated Clara in the semi final and Piltown were winners over Muckalee. The Piltown girls made St Canices work all the way before they captured the Roinn A title in a great game of camogie. The game was a lively one all through and it was ten minutes into the game before the first score was registered by St Canices. Katelynn Phelan, who had a great game for Piltown, combined well shortly after with Chloe Blackmore and the ball went narrowly wide for Piltown. With both sets of forwards anxious to keep the ball in front of their respective goals the defences were allowed no easy clearances, but neither did the backs concede scores. The stalemate was eventually broken when a free for St Canices, taken by Sarah Lanigan, ended up in the back of the net for a goal. The very lively Lisa McCarthy for Piltown caused some problems for the St Canice’s defence but Eadaoin Doheny was alert in the goal. Piltown had their efforts rewarded with a goal when Kelly Ann Doyle lopped in a great sideline ball. St Canice’s pointed before half time courtesy of Bronagh Cleere who took a lovely pass from the hard working Jenny Clifford. This left the score at half time St Canices 1 – 2 to Piltown 1 – 0.
St Canices goaled early in the second half with a shot to the net by Sarah Wiley. Almost immediately Piltown replied with a well taken goal from April Kelly. Piltown had a point from a free to leave the minimum between the teams. A great clearance from Alex Lawless for St Canices was gathered and pointed by Bronagh Cleere. St Canices continued to pile on the pressure but led by Katelynn Phelan and with some great saves from Aoife Norris Piltown held firm. In turn Kelly Ann Doyle made some great runs from defence to lauch attacks from the Piltown forwards. Piltown added points from Katelynn Phelan (free ) and Sarah Murphy. But St Canices Aoife Prendergast relieved the pressure with a well taken goal. Piltown’s last score of the game was a point from Chloe Holden.

Primary Schools Camogie Roinn C County Final
Ballyraggett 6 - 5 Johnstown 4 -1
Johnstown and Ballyraggett qualified to meet in the Roinn D Primary Schools Camogie Final having defeated St Johns and the Rower Inistioge respectively in their semi finals. The Ballyraggett girls started the game in a determined fashion and put early pressure on the Johnstown defence. Johnstown goalie Maria Cullinane needed be very alert in these early stages and brought off some good saves. Good teamwork for Johnstown between Niamh Sweeney, Aoife Sweeney and Ellen Fitzpatrick resulted in the ball being diverted out for a 45 which Chloe Purcell pointed. However from the resulting puck out Ballyragget replied with a well taken point from Laura Hegarty. For the next five minutes the Ballyragget defence was busy as Johnstown maintained a steady attack and none worked harder in that defence than full back Kelly Dowling who got in some good clearances. It was from one of these clearances that the ball was worked into the Ballyragget full forward line and team captain Laura Doyle finished to the net. Two further points from Laura Hegarty and a second goal from Laura Doyle stretched Ballyragget's lead. This did not deter the Johnstown girls and they continued to battle their way into the game and were rewarded before half time with a goal finished by Rachel Dermody. This left the half time score Ballyragget 2 - 3 to Johnstown 1 - 1. Johstown got a great start to the second half a 45 taken by Laura Hegarty dropped in to the back of the Ballyragget net for a goal. Almost from the puck out Lauren Dermody gathered the ball and following a great run up the field goaled for Ballyragget. Not to be deterred Johnstown upped their game again and with some good play from Alison Muldowney, Niamh Sweeney and Ellen Fitzpatrick continued to apply the pressure. They were rewarded with a goal and a point from Niamh Sweeney. Naomh Fiachra 0 - 2 Bennettsbridge 2 - 4
Bennettsbridge won their first ever Primary Schools camogie title when they defeated Naomh Fiachra, Skeoughvosteen in the Roinn D final. On their way to the final Bennettsbridge had defeated Glenmore in the semi final while Naomh Fiachra had beaten Callan. From the start of the game Bennettsbridge looked the stronger team and despite the best efforts of the Naomh Fiachra defence Sarah Molloy goaled early for Bennettsbridge. A free by the lively Megan Walsh was finished to the net again by Sarah Molloy. Naomh Fiachra registered their first score when Ellie Barcoe pointed from a 45. Muireann Murphy and Denise Carroll continued to work hard for Naomh Fiachra in the middle of the field and a great shot on goal from the latter brought a brilliant save from Bennettsbridge goalkeeper Vickie Lennon. Niamh Nolan added a point for Naomh Fiachra. However the Bennettsbridge defence was not for conceding scores and with Aoife Jones and Aoife Hughes clearing well each time the Skeough girls found it difficult to make any further headway. Jennifer O Neill added a point from a 45 for Bennettsbridge to leave the half time score Naomh Fiachra 0 - 2 to Bennettsbridge 2 - 1.
Bennettsbridge began the second half strongly with the midfield trio of Cliona Mullen, Megan Walsh and Jennifer O Neill doing some great work. The Naomh Fiachra defence led by Orla Cleere and Enya Foley did well to keep the Bridge girls from scoring. A good piece of team work between Niamh Nolan, Denise Carroll and Muireann Murphy gave Naomh Fiachra a great scoring chance but the ball went narrowly wide. Grace McDonald and Megan Walsh ( free ) added further points before the end of the game for Bennetsbridge and they held on to run out winners ahead of the game Naomh Fiachra girls.
