Primary Schools Competition Rules and Regulations (2009)
- First named team has home venue & supplies referee. Neutral referees & venues supplied for semi finals and finals. For quarter finals a draw for home venue will be made and the visiting team will provide the referee.
- Venues for Quarter Finals (Roinn A, B & D) will be home / away and decided by a toss.
- Referees for knock out games are to be paid €15 by each team. County Final expenses will be paid by County Board.
- Teams of 12 - a - side.
- Unlimited substitution is allowed in all matches.
- Size 3 sliotar to be used in all games.
- The onus is on the travelling team to make the first contact.
- Team lists are not required. There is no age limit but only those students on the school roll for the current academic year are eligible. Schools from the same parish only may, if they wish, unite to form a team.
- Schools with two teams must register each team separately and a player may only play with the team with which she is registered at any stage during the year.
- Matches of 20 minutes duration each half except for semi finals and finals, these of 25 minutes duration each half.
- In the event of teams finishing level at the end of knockout matches, including playoff matches, except the finals, extra time of 10 minutes per half duration will be played. Matches must be played on or before the stated date. Schools not fulfilling their fixtures on time risk suspension from the competition
- In the league section 3 points shall be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw.
- Affiliation: €30 per team
- Teams must be registered by filling in attached school lists - in the event of there being more than one school involved please use a separate sheet for each school and have each one signed by the Principal of that school. Photocopy if necessary.
- The county board will pay for 16 medals for each of the 8 finalists which will be presented immediately after the final. Extra medals are the responsibility of the schools involved and can be ordered through the County Board
- Winning teams should forward results of games as indicated.
